Tour date changes from Stone Temple Pilots

Stone Temple Pilots is taking a short break in September from their tour with no real explanation, but they will be back on the road in October with a revised gig schedule.

The dates originally booked for September have been reassigned in October, starting with the show at the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fla., on Oct. 12. All tickets will be honored on the rescheduled dates, according to Atlantic Records.

These changes come after a sudden postponement of the El Paso, Texas, show on September 21, and a late start and odd showing from frontman Scott Weiland during the Sunday night in Dallas. (Read More…)

Stone Temple Pilots New Album Out in May

Stone Temple Pilots (STP) will be debuting their new self titled record on May 25, 2010.  The first single, “Between the Lines,” has been circling the airways since March.

STP re-formed in 2008 after receiving several offers to play festivals.  Once back on stage, and with Stone Temple Pilots tickets flying out the door, things started to take on a life of its own and kept going.  The overwhelming response from fans kept the band touring into 2009.  While on the road, the beginnings of a new album started to take shape.  It just made sense for a new album to be the next logical step.

Stone Temple Pilots frontman Scott Weiland told Spin Magazine that the band will release a new album in early 2010.

According to Weiland, guitarist Dean Deleo and bassist Robert DeLeo have been writing the instrumental music for the album, and he will then get the lyrics in place.

Weiland has been touring on his own over the past few months - Stone Temple Pilots Tickets will surely be available soon.

Scott Suffers Seizure at 30,000 Ft.

On a flight to Los Angeles to Miami last Friday, Scott Weiland, STP’s frontman, suffered a minor seizure. He was given oxygen and other medical assistance by the flight crew while the plane was diverted to make an emergency landing in Dallas.

Weiland arrived safely and is reportedly fine.  He has had a history of seizures, so this is not an isolated incident for him.

The singer was headed to Miami to launch a self-titled clothing line for the fashion brand English Laundry. Weiland designed the collection himself to showcase his own style sensibilities.
